My journey as an artist is deeply influenced by personal experiences and the legacies of women from marginalised communities. Growing up, I witnessed the strength of the women in my family, navigating a world designed to limit their agency. This shaped my awareness of the power of storytelling and the importance of amplifying silenced voices.
My practice explores gender and cultural identity, focusing on the power dynamics at play through an intersectional, decolonial feminist lens. Using mixed media, cultural signifiers, and storytelling, I examine race, gender and cultural identity, challenging conventional representations and reframing narratives that are often overlooked or misrepresented.
